REMOTE CAMPAIGN SOCIAL MEDIA PLAN

Week of June 5, 2023

Goal:

To amplify Here4TheKids actions happening on the ground in Denver and share coverage in the press and other media. 


Here4TheKids social media platforms:

Follow us on all the below social channels. This is a grassroots national movement with a state-by-state focus. We’re starting in Denver but not stopping until our kids are safe. Keep spreading the word and staying involved!

GET READY FOR ACTION

What To Expect:

  • A morning welcome and an evening closing embodied/meditation practice videos offered by our H4TK leadership. These videos will invite us into action for the day and guide us in processing our actions and ground in the evening. 

  • Live stream videos and updates from on the ground 3x a day. The RC call to action will share out and bring attention to the on the ground action for all of the country to see! 

  • Daily check-in with our co-founders Saira Rao and Tina Strawn for in real time news and updates.

  • Art + Activism = ARTIVISM. Utilizing art for social change, we are offering several project ideas for adults and kiddos to share with the world how you envision a gun free future. Please visit our ARTIVISM SPACE for all the details. Live zoom gatherings will be offered as well.

  • "In Conversation With" is our series of Instagram Live interviews and discussion with activists, thought leaders, authors in our BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and Disability communities. In these conversations we will discuss the intersection of gun violence, white supremacy, and experience with marginalized and vulnerable identities.

  • Grief and loss gatherings. These gatherings will create space to witness and hold the multiple ways we as individuals and as a society experience loss and hold grief in our bodies, minds, and spirits and way to practice self and community care. Participate via zoom. Registration link to be provided soon. 

  • Connecting with our social media hub to keep up to date on all our offical H4TK social media posts and share out with our target audience.

DIRECT ACTION IDEAS


Suggested action items: 

  1. Contact Governor Jared Polis and urge he sign our Executive Order to ban guns and buy them back. Script to use to contact Gov Polis, also noted in this post:

ACTION: Now that the Governor has the Executive Order, it’s time for us to call, email, and visit his office, asking when he will sign it!!

“By signing this executive order, you will go down in history as the leader who stepped up to save the children of the United States from genocide. If you do not sign it, no doubt another Governor will. Another Governor will choose children over guns. Another Governor will choose heroism and humanity over continued cowardice and profit.”

Let’s remind the Governor how much this means to us all! That NOTHING is more important. Please email and call his office to ask him when he will sign the Executive Order and how he wishes to be remembered: Greatest American Hero or Villain?

2. If you live in a state with a Blue Governor, call or email them using the same script above. ALL Blue State Governors (or their teams) have received an email with Governor Polis’ Executive Order and information how Colorado is only step one. Find the contact info for your Governor here. 

3. Spread the word far and wide. Continue to tell your friends, family, clients, colleagues. Share this flier in English or this one in Spanish with any of the above contacts or when sharing on social media. If you have friends, family, connections, or contacts in media / press, share the above fliers with them.  

4. Share social content. Re-post / reshare content directly from H4TK social media accounts so messaging is consistent.
