Documentary Screening: 'Up In Arms' + Panel Discussion

Come join us for a rare opportunity to screen the work-in-progress documentary, 'Up In Arms'. The filmmakers are raising funds to finish this film and on this night, audiences will get an opportunity to relive the historic Denver action on June 5, 2023.

According to the U.S. Center for Disease Control, guns are now the number one killer of American kids and teens. Exhausted and living in constant anxiety and fear, a group of white moms become unlikely abolitionists to save their children from school mass shootings.

Following the lead of a Black American woman and an Indian American woman and the history of the U.S. Abolition and the Civil Rights movement, these newbie white women activists will first need to fight through their own discomfort and their husbands' and family's disapproval, to find their voices to change the world around them.

'Up In Arms' is a powerful film showcasing that we can no longer sightlessly depend on the status quo to save us and, instead, that white Americans, who possess near-hegemonic power, MUST use their privilege to fight oppressive systems harming ALL children.
