Here 4 The Kids is going viral!

It’s nine days until our peaceful sit-in of 25,000+ white women from around the country on Monday, June 5, in Denver, Colorado.

Nine days until we call upon Colorado Governor Jared Polis to sign an Executive Order to ban guns and implement a statewide buyback program.

Nine days until we collectively change the trajectory of the United States forever.

A few things to update you on . . .

In the media

Our dance card has been filling up of late! On Thursday, an interview with Katie Couric Media and our co-founder, Tina Strawn, was published in which Tina beautifully laid out our strategy and inspiration – and three nights ago, co-founder, Saira Rao, and actor/activist and team member, Lake Bell, appeared on The ReidOut with Joy-Ann Reid, where they discussed our movement and how what we are doing is common sense. They all really nailed it – worth a read and  worth a watch!

Additionally, earlier this week we were also the lead story with CBS Colorado, where the white news journalist said ‘white supremacy’ in the report (yes!) – and finally, at the end of last week, we were featured in The Washington Post, in an excellent piece by Kate Woodsome called ‘The Colorado sit-in for a gun ban is a courageous act of imagination’, which is very insightful. Kate will be at the Capitol with us on June 5, and we thank her for her words.

Please watch and read these four important press pieces and post them to your social media, email them to friends, get them tattooed across your forehead, etc. (okay, maybe just the first two). By the way, please use this link for The Washington Post piece otherwise, it will be stuck behind a paywall: https://wapo.st/3Oq69W7.

Sharing is caring

We’d love for you all to share the Katie Couric Media post, as well as the Joy-Ann Reid social posts here and here, as we want these all to go super viral! Why? Because the more attention these big news articles get, the more opportunities it opens up for us as a movement.

So, please, repost, pop in stories, remix on Instagram, all the things!

We still need volunteers

We really need volunteers for both the day of June 5, as well as before then. Can you please help? Can you encourage others to help? Can you do both those things?

The types of jobs we need our volunteers to help run the on-the-ground components of our direct action in Denver as well as run our equally as important remote campaign. We need you!

More on-the-ground info to come

And lastly, yes we know many of you are asking lots of questions about the run of events on June 5. Please know we hear you and we are working around the clock (very literally) to bring you this information asap. Please sit tight – it will all be with you soon!

(And be sure to join our online community in Mighty Networks in the meantime!)

We appreciate you all!

P.S. Yes, yes, I know we’ve already said it but please sharethis, this and thissocialpost – and please email this WaPo piece (with this link https://wapo.st/3Oq69W7) to your contacts. THANK YOU!
